Pollok Family Day 2014
Queen’s Park Camera Club again had a stall
at Pollok Family Day on Sunday 24th August 2014. It was a combined event
this year with the Highland Cattle Show. The Club's display was in a busier
location than usual next to the Highland Cattle arena, giving plenty of
opportunity for Club Members to try to get some prize winning images for the
impending start of the season!
This popular event gives QPCC the perfect platform to engage with the local community and promote the art of photography. The lovely weather encouraged many people to the event and visitors enjoyed the display of the Club's Annual Print Exhibition and other prints from members.
With its extensive woodlands, picturesque gardens and a host of wildlife, Pollok Country Park allows Glasgow's residents and visitors to sample a taste of rural life without leaving the city boundaries and provides the ideal venue for a relaxed family day out, with plenty of photographic opportunities.
QPCC would like to thank Land and Environmental Services, Glasgow City Council for the invite and use of a marquee, and Glasgow District Photographic Union for the use of display boards. Also, many thanks go to all of the Club Members who ran the stall and visited on the day.
