Moira's Run 2014 - 5K Celebration Run
A 5K charity run in celebration of the life of murdered
Moira Jones took place on Sunday, 19th October 2014 in Queens Park.
The event encouraged members of the local community to reclaim the park and commemorate Moira, who perished there in 2008. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Moira Fund, a charity which was established by Moira's friends and family with the aim of providing grants for those traumatically bereaved by the murder or manslaughter of loved ones.
Local companies, shops and Moira’s employer pulled together to support the event in the spirit of true community. The weather was dreadful and most participants ended up soaked to the skin but spirits were not dampened and there was a great sense of fun throughout. All runners received a medal, a goody bag and a bottle of water on crossing the finishing line.
Five Queen’s Park Camera Club members turned out to capture the event and you can view more of their photos here.

One of our members, Phil McCloy, has also posted photos on his own gallery.
There are are also links to both galleries on the Moira Fund website.
